Classic MG Cars
MG started car production in the 1920s. The company is perhaps best known in classic terms for its two seater sports cars but has, in its time, produced a full range of different models some of which have gone on to achieve classic status.
MG initially started producing car designs that modified other existing cars before building their own cars. One of their first early successes was known as the Old Number One which was produced in the 1920s.
During the 1930s the company produced a range of classic including the MG 18/80 Tourer, the MG K1 Magnette, the MG L2 Magna and the MG NA Magnette. The company also produced a saloon model with the MG WA and released another classic saloon - the MG YA - in the 1940s. The big models of the 1950s here included the MG TD and the MG TF.
In the 1960s the company produced what is probably now considered its classic trademark car with the first MGB. This is considered to be the best selling British sports car and is a key component of many classic car collections. The MG Midget, released in the 1970s, is also considered to be a classic in many circles.
